The hunting lodge

The Vemdalen hunting lodge is located on northern Skalsfjället, about three kilometers from Vemdalsskalet. Here, visitors can enjoy crispy waffles, soups, sandwiches, and homemade pastries. Here you can experience a genuine mountain environment, where even dogs are welcome during coffee breaks. You can get here by snowmobile, skis, snowmobile, or on foot via the Vessel trail. The trail system then continues across the mountain world towards Västra Härjedalen and the mountains of Jämtland.

The Vemdalen hunting lodge first opened in 1966 and has been a popular rest stop in the mountains ever since. Over the years, the lodge has been developed and rebuilt. However, the family atmosphere and waffles have always remained a cherished tradition.

The sleigh rides start at the trail center at Vemdalsskalet and take guests up to the cabin. It is also possible to follow the sleigh on cross-country skis or with slalom equipment, and a groomed downhill run to Hildings Backe leads back to the lift system.
